Survivor Rowing Network will return to HOCR for the 3rd Annual Survivor Row Saturday October 17, 2026

SRN x HOCR History

We have lofty goals for our Survivor Rowers. Many row recreationally, while others are driven to compete — and the Survivor Rowing Network (SRN) works hard to provide opportunities for every athlete where they are in their journey.

We’ve already built an amazing history at the Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) — the world’s largest and most prestigious rowing event.

Our journey began in 2023, when 12 SRN members competed in the Grand Master 8+ and 4+. In 2024, we made history by collaborating with HOCR to host the inaugural HOCR Survivor Row, featuring 11 boats from the U.S., France, and Italy. Tens of thousands of spectators lined the river, cheering as these remarkable athletes showed the world what strength, unity, and resilience look like.

In 2025, we celebrated our second annual HOCR Survivor Row — bringing together 122 athletes from four countries competing in 14 boats representing 28 rowing programs.

In addition to support from HOCR, we partnered with the Boston collegiate rowing community — MIT, Northeastern, Boston University and Harvard-Radcliffe as they opened their boathouses and supported us each step of the way.
