Head of the Charles Regatta 2025
We have lofty goals for our Survivor Rowers. Many row recreationally, while others are driven to compete — and the Survivor Rowing Network (SRN) works hard to provide opportunities for every athlete where they are in their journey.
We’ve already built an amazing history at the Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) — the world’s largest and most prestigious rowing event.
Our journey began in 2023, when 12 SRN members competed in the Grand Master 8+ and 4+. In 2024, we made history by collaborating with HOCR to host the inaugural HOCR Survivor Row, featuring 11 boats from the U.S., France, and Italy. Tens of thousands of spectators lined the river, cheering as these remarkable athletes showed the world what strength, unity, and resilience look like.
This year, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 3:30 PM, we return for the second annual HOCR Survivor Row — bringing together 122 athletes from four countries competing in 14 boats representing 28 rowing programs.
Please join us on the racecourse to cheer on these extraordinary women and men — or tune in via the HOCR Live Stream to watch from anywhere in the world.
A million thanks from all of us at SRN to the Head of the Charles organizers and staff, to USRowing for co-hosting our Survivor Brunch, and to our partners JL Racing, WinTech, RegattaCentral, and Concept2 for their continued belief in our mission.
We also extend a special thank-you to the collegiate rowing community — MIT, Northeastern, Harvard-Radcliffe, BU, and Tulane — for opening their boathouses and supporting us each step of the way.
